How Credible is Google Page Rank?

I used to be a payperpost blogger, long before Google hated all pay-per-post posties (bloggers). It seems that becoming a member of payperpost is like jumping into a sink hole of Google page rank disaster. The site that I’m using for Payperpost had a sudden jump from PR4 to PR0, the fact that I’m expecting it to hit PR6 on the next PR update. That’s really really awful :( So, now I’m thinking if Google page rank is still as credible like before. It seems that Google updated it’s PR pigeons ‘just’ to eliminate the bloggers that makes money from blogging. That’s nasty! Just because you made some extra cash from paid post you’ll get a cold treatment such as dropping page ranks up to ZERO. Hmmm, or maybe Google is just an uber follower of Michael Arrington?

Just to let you know, the no.1 Payperpost hater Michael Arrington has blogged about the freaking out of all the members of Payperpost. I love reading that hate post by Michael, imagine he’s making a lot of money by simply bashing payperpost and the posties!

Ok folks, let’s go back to the topic. How Credible is Google Page Rank? Why punished PPP bloggers? Is it just because Payperpost is so damn popular and must be shut down? How about other bloggers who are making a lot of money via paid post? Like those that are signed up with ReviewMe? How about those bloggers who are still making money from paid post by just using a ‘BUY POST’ script on their blogs, in just a matter of simple mouse click buyers can then directly post their very own content on that particular blog, and using the paypal button, transactions are neatly done? Can Google bite them? One more thing how about these stupid sites that continuously scraping off other blog’s contents? How come they still have high PR?

  1. When you say “credible”, what are you referring to? Do you mean, is Google PageRank an indication of how well written a site is? How credible its author is? How much traffic an advertiser will get if they advertised on that site?

If this is what you’re asking, the answer is NO, PR was never meant as an indicator of those things, or was it ever meant to be. Unfortunately, that’s what some people think it is and that’s why they are disappointed !

  2. Great input…Thanks for dropping by Owen!
