Space Tourism 2009

Almost 300 richy rich people have already paid just waiting for the opening of space tourism by 2009. The world’s largest all-carbon-composite aircraft - White Knight Two was unveiled by the Billionaire Richard Branson.

White Knight Two has a 140-foot wingspan, 16 feet shorter than that of a Boeing 767. The cost for a 2-hour trip into space is $200,000. There are currently 270 paid customers waiting to go up, according to Virgin Galactic. White Knight Two will begin flight tests in the fall, and test flights of SpaceShipTwo are expected to begin in 2009.

As of 2008, orbital space tourism opportunities are limited and expensive, with only the Russian Space Agency providing transport. The price for a flight brokered by Space Adventures to the International Space Station aboard a Soyuz spacecraft is now $20 million. Flights are fully booked until 2009. $200,000 boarding fee for a 2 hour flight actually is cheaper than paying $20M, as long as you can see Earth from the outer space is basically just the same.
