Spell the word palatschinken, apodyterium, herniorrhaphy... It seems these words are hard enough to blow off my brains out of my krey-nee-uh. Kavya Shivashankar won the 2009 National spelling bee competition in Washington. Kavya correctedly spelled the word Laodicean to win the spelling bee contest. The contest was sponsored by Scripps, the contest was first began in 1925.

Laodicean is pronounced (ley-od-uh-see-uhn) and means lukewarm or indifferent, esp. in religion, as were the early Christians of Laodicea.
